Winter Over-nighter!!

9 pm to 6:30 am



Where: Meet at Grace Baptist at 9 pm sharp. We will then head over to House of Bounce in Rochester (www.rochesterhouseofbounce.com) from 10 pm to 2 am.

At 2 am we will head back to Grace for movies/games/sleep / whatever and a breakfast in the morning.

Cost: $13 per teen – this covers everything from laser tag to food. You may bring extra spending money for snacks at the House of Bounce concession stand. Please bring cash if you can or a blank check (I may need to gather the money and pay for the group as a whole).

What to bring: Sleeping Bag, pillow / Snacks for afterward at church / video games (must be approved by Pastor Brett) / money / clothes to have fun!

The price includes laser tag / complete access to the house of bounce / breakfast.

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS

• You must tell Pastor Brett you are coming so he can arrange rides.

• You must bring a signed permission slip!!!! (On the back of this page and downloadable from the house of bounce website)

YMCA OVERNIGHT 09

We are renting the entire YMCA Friday night, May 15th from 9pm-12am. After the YMCA, we are heading back to Grace Baptist for the night!

YMCA: We will have access to the pool, gym, basement, tennis courts, racket ball courts, etc…
According to YMCA rules, you MUST have a parent permission slip signed!!! One per teen.
After the Y, we will head back to church for a night of food and fun. Bring your video game consoles and games (No mature games). We will be playing games, board games, whatever. We will have a breakfast and then you are dismissed at 6am.
You must let Pastor Brett know if you are coming and how many friends you are bringing.
Remember, you must have your parents sign a permission slip – this is non-negotiable.

MALL OF AMERICA SCAVENGER HUNT
SAT. APRIL 25TH
8:30am – 6:30pm


Where: We will meet at Grace 8:30am sharp and head up to MOA.

When: 8:30am to 6:30pm – don’t be late!

What: Mall Scavenger Hunt and shopping, eating, whatever.

After we arrive at MOA, we will break into teams and have a scavenger hunt until 12:30pm. We will all meet back together for lunch. After lunch, you may go in groups (with leaders in each group) shopping, rides, whatever. We will leave around 4pm and stop by McDonald’s on the way back. Remember, you must be with a group (including a leader) at all times.

There is no cost to this activity but you may want to bring spending money for food. Even if you do not plan on shopping, the scavenger hunt is a lot of fun.

Because I have to arrange rides and leaders…you MUST let me know you are coming no later than April 23rd.

BIGGER AND BETTER
GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH
SAT. APRIL 4

“Serious fun starting with just a penny!”

Arrive at church at 6pm sharp. We will break up into teams and scour Austin in search of things bigger and better.

Each team will start with one single penny, going from place to place asking to trade for something bigger or better. You may get something of great value or you may get junk! The trick is to return to the church after 3 hours with something that will impress the judges.

Last year we got a tree, heater, an inordinate looking statue of a bunny, and all kinds of stuff! You don’t to miss this – invite your friends, bother your parents (respectfully mind you), whatever!

There is no cost for this activity!

We will come back to the church for food and admiration of the treasure (if that is what you want to call it).

VIDEO SCAVENGER HUN T

What on earth is this? Good question. Come and find out!
Ever want to try out your directing skills? Here is you chance. Bring all the friends you can to this activity.

You will split up into team and scour the town producing, filming, and starring in your team’s video. The hilarity will be endless. After you are done, we will meet back at church for popcorn and watch the videos.

Get creative – bring props, whatever!

This is a FREE activity so no excuses!
7pm to 11pm. There will be plenty of food!

If you can bring your family’s camera that would be great (you will be the only one operating it).

Oct. 16-18 (held over MEA so it will not interfere with school activities).
Cost 25$ (the real cost is 45$ but the church is willing to generously pay for 20$ - thank them!!
- if there is a sibling the cost is only 15$ for the second teen

We will meet and leave the church at 11 am on Thursday (Oct. 16 )
return on Saturday (Oct. 18 ) at round 4 pm

What to bring: It may get chilly up there, please be sure to bring a sufficient amount of warm clothes.
Money for lunch on the way up and way back; medical release form; Bible; sleeping bag; pillow; coat; toiletries; towel; several change of clothes (warm); camera (not attached to a phone).

What not to bring: Remember - the retreat rules state that no one bring cell phones or mp3 players of any kind. The purpose is to get away and focus on God. Tell your parents that leaders and sponsors will have phones in case parents need to contact the teen. There are no exceptions to the rule. In the past, phones and mp3 players have been stolen or lost and usually just create distractions.

YOU MUST HAVE THE MEDICAL INFO AND MONEY IN BY WED. OCT. 15TH!!!

PLEASE TELL YOUR PARENTS TO USE CASH OR MAKE A CHECK OUT TO MSYC (Minnesota state youth committee) - DO NOT MAKE THE CHECK OUT TO GRACE BAPTIST OR PASTOR BRETT!!!

Here it is!!! The annual Mall of America Activity!!!

Sat. Sept 13th, 8am to 7pm

We will have a scavenger hunt in the morning and then shop in the afternoon!

Bring your friends – it will be a blast.

I just went to the MOA with my wife yesterday to set up the scavenger hunt – promises to be a doozy.

Bring your digital cameras so we can have the pictures immediately and I can actually tally points and give out prizes!

No-money? No-worries – This is a free activity and you don’t have to buy anything (the scavenger hunt is a blast anyway). We will be eating lunch at the MOA and stopping by McDonalds on the way home for dinner. Let me know if money is a problem!

AWANA KICK-OFF NIGHT!!!!

This year, we are kicking off the AWANA and school year with an evening carnival. We will have a barbecue, games (air-bounce, face-painting, candy, balloons, etc…), a missionary speaker, and just a lot of fun.

The teens will not only be invited but also involved! I need your help to run games (yes, you can play too, paint faces, pass out and consume candy, etc.

This will also be the official start for the youth group school year. We are having some great Wed. nights this year (including the first annual SPAM carving contest [Sept. 17], special speakers, and more).

Don’t forget – it starts at 6:00 (not 6:30 like usual)
